Lou is also a Past President and board member of the Chester County Bar Association, Past Chairman of the PBA Young Lawyers' Division, and he served on the PBA Board of Governors for ten years. He served nine years in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association and is a past member of the PBA Judicial Evaluation Commission. He is a past member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Committee to Study Racial and Gender Bias in the Courts and served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He was the first Chairman of the CCBA Young Lawyers Division and was founding Editor of the CCBA newsletter, New Matter. In addition to his extensive service in legal organizations, Lou is very active in the community. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Malvern Preparatory School, the Chester County Community Foundation (currently Chair), and the Chester County Advisory Board of Eagle National Bank. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Laymen's Retreat League (Malvern) and is a Past President of the Chester County Estate Planning Council. He is a Past Chairman of the Annual Campaign at Paoli Hospital and is the current Chair of the Board of Directors of the Foundation at Paoli Hospital. Lou is a Past President of the Central Chester County Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Central Chester County (1988), and the Rotary Club of Exton-Frazer (1982).
