The West Chester Downtown Foundation's Board of Directors has elected MacElree Harvey Managing Partner Lance J. Nelson as President of the Foundation for 2008. Nelson has been a member of the board since its inception in 2001 and has served in numerous leadership roles with the organization.

The Downtown Foundation strives to increase economic opportunity within the Downtown area of West Chester and is focused on initiatives to draw shoppers, diners and visitors to the area. Nelson, who has worked for MacElree Harvey in Downtown West Chester for more than 15 years, sees the vitality of the Downtown area as critical not only to businesses, but to area residents as well: " West Chester is fortunate to have a dynamic combination of higher education, the arts, fine restaurants and shops, and recreational venues all within a close geography. As a result, the area attracts a broad audience and the Downtown Foundation works to keep both residents and visitors engaged in the community and as loyal customers of local businesses."

In addition to his role with the Downtown Foundation, Nelson serves as Treasurer of the Chester County Bar Association and is a member of the West Chester Business Improvement District, the West Chester University Presidential Scholarship Gala Steering Committee and the Chester County Community Foundation.
