MacElree Harvey Attorneys Cited for Excellence

Four members of the Chester County law firm of MacElree Harvey were recognized by Main Line Today magazine for being among the top lawyers in the region.

The selections were made by fellow attorneys and announced in the April edition of the magazine.

Leonard Rivera was named in two categories, criminal defense and immigration law. Lance J. Nelson was listed in the family law section while William Gallagher was listed for medical malpractice representation and Timothy Rayne for personal injury law.

Rivera, a graduate of the Dickinson School of Law was a sole practitioner for six years serving primarily Chester County's Latino community before joining MacElree Harvey. Rivera is active in the Chester County Bar Association, serving as past chair of the Law Day Committee and on the Naturalization Committee, and participating in the Law Related Education Section and in the Criminal Defense Section.

Nelson, the managing partner of MacElree Harvey, is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law. He was admitted to the Delaware and Pennsylvania bars in 1991, and joined MacElree Harvey shortly thereafter. He became a director of the firm in 1998, and the managing partner in 2001. He has been a member of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board's Hearing Committee since 2001. He has also served in several capacities for the Chester County Bar Association.

Gallagher, a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law, concentrates his practice in complex litigation, personal injury, professional malpractice and family law. Prior to joining MacElree Harvey, he served as Public Defender of Chester County and as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. He is a former President of the Chester County Bar Association and past member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates.

Rayne, a graduate of the Widener University School of Law, practices civil litigation. He handles diverse types of civil cases. He is the author of many publications discussing personal injury, civil litigation and family law and writes a monthly legal column for the Kennett Paper. Rayne is a member of the Pennsylvania and Chester County Bar Associations and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
