The law firm MacElree Harvey Ltd. is pleased to award, for the third consecutive year, an Initiative Grant to a Chester County woman who has shown initiative in her support of women in business. The award recipient will designate a charity of her choice to receive the $750 prize. The grant will be announced at the 20th Annual Gala, being held May 8th at the Inn at Chester Springs. Denise Werkley, President of the Women's Referral Network Board of Directors, explains the grant's reach, "The MacElree Harvey Initiative Grant is unique in that it recognizes the achievements of one, but has the power to benefit many. The grant allows a local businesswoman to be applauded for her own professional success while at the same time giving her the opportunity to showcase her personal commitments. MacElree Harvey launched its grant program with the Women's Referral Network a few years ago and we are pleased to have been a continued outlet for this exceptional program." MacElree Harvey Managing Partner, Lance Nelson, relays why this grant is a natural extension of the firm's community support, "The characteristic which defines MacElree Harvey is the initiative our attorneys and staff extend on behalf of our clients and their concerns. It seems fitting for us to support the same characteristic in women leaders in the county as they strive to expand the role of women business owners, supporters and the Referral Network. Having a charity component to the grant was also appealing to the firm, since we are committed to giving back to the local community and those in need." Click here to view Lance Nelson's biography. |
