Attorney to represent Chester County's East Bradford North precinct

The results are in! On May 16, 2006, Alexander J. Chotkowski, an attorney with MacElree Harvey, won a contested race for Republican Committeeman to represent Chester County's East Bradford North precinct. Alexander, a Marine Corps reservist and Operation Iraqi Freedom II veteran, received almost 61 percent of the vote.

At MacElree Harvey, Alex practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, he earned his B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, and his law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire.

When not practicing law, Alex serves the community in a variety of ways. Most notably, he is a Major in the Marine Corps Reserve, and recently served in Iraq as a Company Commander for a 155-member Marine unit responsible for logistics and convoy operations. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Chester County Pops Orchestra, a mentor for the Gift for Learning Law Explorer program, and a member of the West Chester VFW.

In addition, Alex is an active member of the Bar Associations of Connecticut and Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States District Courts for Connecticut and Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. He has been a member of the Chester County Bar Association since 2002 and was selected as the Bar Association's keynote speaker for "Law Day 2005." Alex has also conducted leadership seminars for businesses and students throughout Chester County.

After completion of his active duty obligations in August 2000, Alex entered into civil litigation with a Hartford, Connecticut law firm. In 2002, he moved to Chester County where he practiced law before his deployment to Iraq in 2004. He joined MacElree Harvey in July of 2005.
