Attorney Mary Ann Plankinton has joined MacElree Harvey as a partner and will practice out of the firm's Kennett Square office.

"Mary Ann has 16 years experience as an attorney," Lance J. Nelson, managing partner of MacElree Harvey, said. "She has earned her reputation as a diligent, responsible and respected attorney and developed a successful practice in Chester County and New Castle County, Delaware."

Plankinton concentrates her practice in family law and has extensive experience in issues related to divorce, child support, custody and adoption, real estate litigation as well as expertise in general litigation, estate planning and administration.

Licensed by both the Pennsylvania and Delaware Bars, Plankinton is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Chester County Bar Associations. As a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators and the Delaware ADR committee, she provides alternative dispute resolution and mediation as an option for her clients.

Plankinton graduated with a B.S. in Political Administration from St. Joseph's University in 1985 and earned her Juris Doctor in 1990 from the Widener University School of Law. She has served on several civic Boards of Directors including the Kennett Square YMCA, Chester County Futures, the Kennett Township Planning Commission and the Chester County Bar Association. She is appointed as a guardian ad litem through the Delaware Family Courts.

She enjoys volunteering her time to support the continuing education programs at Longwood Gardens. Plankinton lives in Landenberg and has a residence at Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia.
