MacElree Harvey litigator Major Alexander J. Chotkowski, a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves, was elected President of the board of directors of the Valley Forge Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), a veteran-based organization that is committed to community action, political awareness, and other philanthropic interests. The Valley Forge MOAA chapter has a well-established Annual Awards Program in place to recognize superior performance exhibited by outstanding ROTC/JROTC cadets and midshipmen at five local colleges/high schools. The program includes the prestigious Liberty Bell Award, first presented in 1977. Yearly, and on a case basis, financial support has been provided to a number of military-related charities. MOAA also provides assistance and support to the cadets at Valley Forge Military College/Academy and recently coordinated a much-needed renovation of the grounds and flora of the Medal of Honor Grove. Chotkowski comments on this prestigious appointment, "I am honored to serve as President of the Valley Forge Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America. Our chapter, as a part of the larger national organization of MOAA, has been a powerful voice for national defense and national security. Additionally, no one group has been more committed to veterans and their families. I look forward to expanding on this great tradition of public service and commitment." Major Chotkowski served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2004-2005. His practice of law includes civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, and product liability cases.
