Philadelphia magazine recently named MacElree Harvey's Harry J. DiDonato one of Pennsylvania's "Rising Stars" in its annual "Super Lawyers" list. According to the magazine, the Rising Stars list represents the top 2.5 percent of "up-and-coming" attorneys in the state. "Harry certainly is a 'rising star'," agrees Lance J. Nelson, managing partner of MacElree Harvey. "He deserves to be recognized for the expert service he gives to clients, the legal profession and the public." The list of Rising Stars, published in December, is determined by votes submitted by the previous year's list of Super Lawyers (roughly five percent of attorneys in the state). The Super Lawyers are asked to vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years. They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally observed in action--whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel or through other first-hand courtroom observation. Harry's areas of practice include business, corporate, and real estate law. His practice concentrates in representing small- to medium-sized businesses as well as individuals in a wide range of commercial, business, and real estate transactions, including the sale and acquisition of businesses; formation of corporations, partnerships and other business organizations; preparation and advice regarding buy-sell agreements, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, employment agreements, and other contractual relationships between parties; the sale, purchase, and lease of commercial real estate; and counsel regarding estate, business succession, and other tax related matters. He has worked with a variety of business segments, including manufacturers, transportation companies, leasing companies, and service companies. Harry received his B.S. degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his law degree and LL.M. from Villanova University. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Chester County Bar Associations and is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He sits on the Board of Commercial Dispute Resolutions, a dispute resolution program. In addition, he is actively involved in the community, serving on several charitable and non-profit boards. Harry lives in Chester County with his wife and three children. |
