MacElree Harveys Managing Partner, Lance J. Nelson, will take on two key leadership roles with local professional and community organizations. Lance will once again serve as President of the West Chester Downtown Foundation. Lance has been involved with the Downtown Foundation since its inception in 2001. This organization brings business and property owners together to achieve long-term economic growth for business in Downtown West Chester. Lance has also been elected Vice President of the Chester
County Bar Association; in 2008, he served as Treasurer of the Association.
The Chesco Bar Association is a legal information resource for the public
and is home to Access to Justice, an award-winning program
which provides legal help at low or no-cost to those who are not eligible
for a pro-bono program, but still cannot afford an attorney at full cost.
The organization also provides resources and education and networking
opportunities for lawyers. Commenting on his involvement in these two organizations Lance says, As a resident of West Chester and an attorney with an office in West Chester, I experience first-hand the tremendous opportunities for growth within this community. I am honored to be part of the leadership of two organizations that are actively involved in thoughtfully expanding the services and resources available. In addition to the Chesco Bar and Downtown Foundation, Lance is a member of the West Chester Business Improvement District, the West Chester University Presidential Scholarship Gala Steering Committee and the Chester County Community Foundation. Lance concentrates his practice of law on family law matters
and commercial litigation. He is a frequent lecturer on family law issues
and has presented to various state and local organizations including the
Chester County Bar Association, Institute of Management Accountants, Pennsylvania
Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In 2007 Lance was designated a Top Family Law Attorney by
Main Line Today magazine. A graduate of Boston College and Villanova
University School of Law, Lance joined MacElree Harvey in 1992, was elected
Director in 1998, and in 2001 assumed the role of Managing Partner. |
