A Marine Corps veteran who fights
for justice at home and abroad

Alexander J. Chotkowski serves not only the clients of MacElree Harvey, but also this country as a Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves.

He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, activated in June 2004 and serving a tour of duty before returning to join MacElree Harvey. Alex has previous experience as Chief Military Prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina,   and has practiced with law firms in Hartford, Connecticut, and Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.  

Alex received a commission from the United States Marines in August 1994 after completing Officer Candidate School. He completed Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was certified as a Marine Judge Advocate on October 1, 1997. His first tour of duty was performed at Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina. There he served as the Chief Military Prosecutor and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of South Carolina. Alex was promoted to his current rank of Major on March 1, 2004. 

Alex practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, and municipal law. He is licensed to practice in Connecticut and Pennsylvania, and is a member of the Chester County Bar Association.

A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Alex earned his BA at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, and his law degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire. He resides in West Chester with his wife and daughter.
