Since 2001, MacElree Harvey has thrived under the strategic leadership of Lance J. Nelson. As the firm's managing partner and an experienced family law and commercial litigation attorney, Lance has helped MacElree Harvey retain its position as one of Pennsylvania's most-respected and influential law firms. He has done so by never losing sight of the basics that clients need when faced with tough legal problems: creative solutions and dedicated client service.

"I enjoy working closely with people and helping them solve serious problems," Lance says. "I help clients navigate through difficult times by giving them peace of mind so they can focus their energy on being productive."

The day-to-day management of MacElree Harvey and its more than 20 lawyers is also rewarding for Lance. "Everyone in this firm is dedicated to providing good, consistent, and creative legal representation to our clients," he says.

A graduate of Villanova School of Law and Boston College, Lance is active in a number of professional organizations, including the Chester County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.

Lance and his wife, who met when both were undergraduates at Boston College, have five children. "Out of the office, I spend a lot of time with my family. We enjoy family vacations in Cape Cod and Maine. And, like any native New Englander, we love rooting for the Boston Red Sox," he says.

Lance and his wife have adopted West Chester University as their second alma mater. They are involved in many activities at WCU, including the annual Presidential Scholarship Gala. Lance also is active in the betterment of West Chester, serving as Chairman of the borough's Business Improvement District.
