Leonard J. Rivera chose to practice law on the advice of his father. "My father was a truck driver," Lenny said. "He always said to me that I should go to law school or medical school so I wouldn't have to work as hard as he did. I thought it was sound advice and everyone I spoke to revered the profession of law." As Lenny explored the idea of becoming an attorney he found he liked the concept of going to court and sticking up for the rights of those needing representation. "I found this very appealing," he said. His first job was a Public Defender in Dauphin County. "I felt at the end of the day that I had helped someone and I was doing something good for society," he said. "I still enjoy representing people and answering their questions. I believe my clients come to me because they feel comfortable, at ease." At MacElree Harvey, Lenny's practice includes the areas of civil and commercial litigation, criminal defense, immigration, and personal injury cases. Lenny has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursinus College in Collegeville, where he was a varsity letterman in football and wrestling. Heobtained his law degree from The Dickinson School of Law, currently known as The Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University. At Dickinson, Lenny excelled in the advocacy programs earning a position on the Allegheny County Trial Lawyers Moot Court Team and receiving the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for the highest grade in the Advocacy II course. When not practicing law, Lenny coaches soccer and teaches Sunday School. He is also on the Boards of La Comunidad Hispana, the Industrial Development Council, the Executive Committee of the Republican Committee of Chester County, the YMCA of Kennett Square, and he organizes a Latino Luncheon each month.MacElree Harvey Speak with a licensed attorney about your own specific situation. © Copyright 2006 MacElree Harvey, Ltd.
