Following in the footsteps of several family members, Leo M. Gibbons decided he also wanted to practice law. At MacElree Harvey, Leo specializes in commercial litigation, creditors' rights and bankruptcy, collection matters and loan workouts. The law, says Leo, gives him an opportunity to help people and make a difference in the lives of his clients and those who need a little extra assistance. "At times people are down on their luck through no fault of their own," he adds. "They may have children to support or are experiencing severe medical problems resulting in outrageous expenses. Handling a bankruptcy pro bono under those circumstances is very satisfying." Leo attended the University of Pittsburgh, receiving his Bachelor's Degree in 1989 and his law degree in 1992. After law school, Leo served a one-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Charles R. Alexander of the Court of Common Pleas of Clarion County, Pennsylvania. He then served as a judicial clerk and later as Chief Judicial Clerk for the Honorable James R. Cavanaugh of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Chester County Bar Associations and serves as Chair of the Commercial Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section of the Chester County Bar. Outside the office, Leo has been active in various community organizations and enjoys running and playing volleyball – though these days most of the running he does is chasing his two young daughters. Perhaps they will one day follow in his footsteps. MacElree Harvey Speak with a licensed attorney about your own specific situation. © Copyright 2006 MacElree Harvey, Ltd. All rights reserved. |
