William T. Wilson, a MacElree Harvey partner and Army Reserve Colonel, has always believed military service is the most selfless way to serve others. His extended tenures with the U.S. Army and Army Reserve have taken him all over the globe – involving him in some of the world's most important political and military exercises. He continued his service in Baghdad. While in Iraq, Bill kept in touch with the firm and his clients through daily e-mail messages. He worked in the United States Embassy compound with the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office (IRMO) of the United States Department of State. His direct assignment was as a liaison between the IRMO and the Multi-National Force, Iraq's Civil Military Operations Directorate. According to Bill, his department managed"big picture issues" with regard to the $18.4 billion appropriated for Iraq reconstruction. "My job was to facilitate the working relationship between the two organizations, which have different cultures and structures, but are involved in the same campaign and often have to work hand in hand," he wrote. "I worked under Ambassador William Taylor, serving as the director of IRMO. He and others on his staff are among the smartest and most hard-working people I have known." Prior to serving in Baghdad, Bill was stationed in a number of locations, both inside the United States and abroad. Since 1998, he has performed 12 "exercises" in Europe. Most notably, he was a member of NATO's initial ground intervention in Kosovo in 1999. Bill also spent five years of active duty in the U.S. Army as a Judge Advocate General. Bill's military experience provides valuable experience and insight for his work back home in Chester County. His primary practice areas include employment and civil rights matters – advising and representing individuals as well as businesses. He also has extensive experience in other areas of Federal and State court civil litigation, including insurance, workers compensation, and commercial transactions. Bill is also a frequent speaker at seminars on various aspects of employment law, including unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment, disabilities, wage and hour regulations, and employee benefits law. When not serving his country or working with clients, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He and his family enjoy hiking, especial in North Carolina, his favorite hiking spot. He also enjoys "a little basketball from time to time," he adds. Bill looks forward to traveling with his family once his military service is concluded. But until that time, he will continue to "give his all" to his country, clients and community.
