West Chester, PA – February 11, 2025 – MacElree Harvey, Ltd. proudly celebrated the reappointment of Judge Lou Mincarelli to the Chester County Court of Common Pleas at a swearing-in ceremony held on February 10, 2025, at the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester. The event marked the continuation of Judge Mincarelli’s distinguished service to the community, with a warm and personal speech delivered by MacElree Harvey Partner Brian L. Nagle.
Judge Mincarelli, who was nominated by Governor Josh Shapiro and confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate on February 4, 2025, was surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and members of the legal community at the ceremony. Brian Nagle, who has worked closely with Judge Mincarelli since his arrival at MacElree Harvey in January 2024, spoke at length about the qualities that make Judge Mincarelli a respected and beloved figure in Chester County’s legal community. Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe also spoke about Judge Mincarelli before he took the other of Office. Additionally, Judge McKenzie Smith was sworn in at the ceremony, solidifying a full complement of Judges on the Chester County Court of Common Pleas.
During his remarks, Nagle shared personal anecdotes and emphasized Judge Mincarelli’s unwavering commitment to justice, fairness, and integrity.
“As a Judge, he embodies fairness, patience, and a genuine commitment to justice. I’ve heard countless people commend Lou for his ability to truly listen, approach every trial and hearing without preconceptions, and work tirelessly to get it right. Above all, he deeply cares about people,” Nagle said.
Nagle also highlighted Judge Mincarelli’s unique path to the bench. While attending law school at night, Judge Mincarelli spent his days working as a crimes victim advocate in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. He later ran the Community Court, where he helped individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. Eventually, he moved up to the major trials unit and between his time there and later in private practice, he was lead counsel taking 60 jury trials to verdict.
Nagle said about Judge Mincarelli’s second term at the Chester County Court of Common Pleas: “I’m not sure if anyone else has been appointed twice, but we now know how special Judge Mincarelli is.”
