At MacElree Harvey, our Personal Injury Practice is dedicated to guiding clients through some of the most difficult experiences of their lives. Partner Tim Rayne, a seasoned trial lawyer, approaches every case with the same goal: to educate clients about their legal rights, ensure they understand the process, and fight for fair treatment from insurance companies and opposing counsel.
While every case is unique, Tim’s work this week reflects the wide variety of matters that come through our office:
- Car Accident and Underinsurance Claim – Tim recently secured a policy-limit settlement for a client injured in a rear-end collision. Because the at-fault driver did not carry enough coverage to fully compensate the client, Tim pursued an Underinsurance claim through the client’s own auto policy. Underinsurance coverage is an important protection you can purchase as part of your insurance; it allows you to seek additional compensation when the other driver’s coverage is insufficient, without risking an increase to your own rates.
- Medical Malpractice Case – Tim prepared clients for their upcoming Depositions in a wrongful death matter involving the failure to diagnose and treat a stroke. A Deposition is sworn testimony taken before a court reporter, where the opposing attorney asks questions relevant to the lawsuit. Preparing clients for this process helps ensure they feel confident and supported while sharing their story.
- Bike Accident Mediation – In another case, Tim is preparing for Mediation on behalf of a client who was run over by a bus while cycling in Philadelphia. Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution where a neutral third party, often a retired judge, helps the parties work toward a fair and efficient resolution outside the courtroom.
- Dog Bite Consultation – Tim also met with a potential new client about pursuing compensation for injuries suffered in a dog bite incident.
At MacElree Harvey, we believe in blending compassion with advocacy. Tim’s recent work highlights our commitment to educating clients, preparing them thoroughly, and pursuing justice through negotiation, mediation, or trial when necessary.
